Michelle Hutchinson, Founder and CEO
Michelle has spent her entire career in the staffing industry, beginning with a local temporary staffing agency in 1989. Intrigued by the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) concept, she not only launched a PEO division within her temp agency, but marketed the PEO concept to other agencies.
In 1993 she ventured out on her own and created CSL California Staff Link (then named Certified Staff Leasing). Michelle's commitment to providing the highest level of service to her clients has resulted in continued referrals and expansion. CSL has grown from Michelle's solo beginning to two offices and a staff of five professionals.
Michelle and CSL were finalists in the 2006 Sacramento Workplace Excellence Awards, and Michelle was ranked number five in the Top 25 Women in Business by the Sacramento Business Journal. Michelle believes such success grows from the dedicated professionals of CSL as well as her personal commitment and loyalty to her clients.
An active member of National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), Michelle has also served for three years on the board of directors for California Association of Professional Employer Organizations (CAPEO). Michelle was raised in the Sacramento area. She now resides in Folsom with her husband and two young children.
Edye Kaanehe, Human Resources Manager
Edye joined CSL in 2004 with ten years of experience in retail and industry as a human resource specialist. Her initiatives included developing and implementing policies, compliance strategies and training programs. At CSL Edye oversees operations of human resources, benefits, payroll and staff training. Additionally she specializes in assisting our clients with conflict resolution, new HR initiatives and employee retention. Her polish and experience make her a valuable single-source contact for CSL's time-pressured clients.
Edye is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She resides in Serrano with her husband and two dogs, Makena and Maile. Her favorite hobby? Personal style and value analysis (also know as shopping.)
Vivian Knox, Payroll Manager
Payroll has been Vivian's lifelong career. She joined CSL in 2003, bringing decades of payroll experience from various Bay Area companies, including an aviation school and hospitality firm. She is expert in many areas, including job costing reports, certified payroll, commission pay schedules, alternative workweek schedules and difficult payrolls, such as those including wage garnishments and tax levies. A jazz fan, Vivian lives in Sacramento.
Dana Persson, Office Administrator
Before joining CSL in 2006, Dana served as project coordinator for a banking investment company in Orange County, where she became knowledgeable in capital raising and investor relations. For CSL Dana handles the day-to-day office administration as well as management support. She is also the smiling initial contact for our clients and vendors. A Sacramento resident, she loves football and is a raving Miami Dolphins fan.
Gretchen Wise, Human Resource and Payroll Assistant
More than five years in office administration and banking sectors give Gretchen a firm foundation on which to build solutions for CSL clients. Her growing expertise in benefits and labor law, along with her resourceful and responsive personality, make Gretchen a solid go-to, can-do member of the CSL team. Outside the office, Gretchen enjoys working out at the gym and spending time with her young son.
